Monthly Reset: September 2026
Word of the Month: Celebration
Finally! The ‘ber months are upon us! Honestly, why do we even have to go through the rest of the year to get here? Can someone just let me live in a Hallmark movie’s snow globe that feels like September through December on repeat? If only!
Even though I’ve been looking forward to this time of year for months and have had an idea of how I want to spend it already in my mind, it’s still nice to do a reset and get specific.
September monthly reset routine is here and I’m talking about goal setting for a new month, prepping for fall, my monthly favorites and how I’m celebrating the changing season along with my birthday! It’s time to reflect, recenter and reset for the month of September.
In case you haven’t seen resets from previous months, this is a guide to doing a monthly reset so that you can reevaluate your goals, see what you did well over the past 30 days and what you might need to work on over the next four weeks. Incorporating this into my life has helped me stop and smell the roses, get honest with myself about what I really want and realize what goals are attainable so I set myself up for success.
Here’s the breakdown and guide I follow each month for you so that you can start doing it as well and be prepared for every month and take control of the precious time you have. Let’s get to it!

September Monthly Reset
Nothing makes me happier than the beginning of fall! September brings the changing of seasons along with the sense of a full refresh. My birthday is this month so I always treat myself to whatever I’m feeling in need of—a spa day, getaway, relaxing day of nothing to simply be. Anything that can bring me the sense of gratitude, peace and happiness. This year is the big 35 and, instead of going all out on a huge blowout celebration, I’m keeping it small and simple. With how quickly the world has been moving, that sounds like the greatest gift.
I chose “celebration” for this month’s focus word because I want to spend the whole month focused on joy, happy times, and welcoming in a new birthday. Taking the pups for a little getaway and giving myself a week of all play & no work sounds like the perfect way to spend my birthday week. Once I’m back home, the month is still all about celebrating—my health, natural aging, amazing relationships and life I get to live—plus decorating for fall. Let’s take a look at last month and start planing for September!

Okay, I knew that August was the precursor to my favorite time of the year, but looking back I realize just how successful I can be when I’m in a good mood. I hit all my goals and it almost feels like I didn’t try that hard because I enjoyed working towards them. I also have a birthday trip planned for September so that’s helped me keep my eye on the prize, if you will. The “Sunday Reset Month” of the year has once again proven itself worthy.
Health and wellness can be a struggle for me sometimes but I think I’ve finally found my preferred routine using Ladder. Oh, the plethora of workout apps available nowadays. I’ve probably tested out all of them but something about this one felt different. Maybe it was Hilary Duff promoting it and the millennial in me knows to always trust Lizzie McGuire. I still can’t quite put my finger on what makes this one stick but whatever they’re doing, I hope they never stop. I’m enjoying working out from home with no more than dumbbells, bands and a yoga mat while also incorporating pilates & my peloton rides into the mix. I look forward to my 3 walks a day with the pups. I love the meals I’m making. Oddly enough, I feel even better mentally from simply using my Oura ring instead of my Apple Watch. This is definitely going to need to be studied and addressed in another health & wellness post!
Lately, it seems the world moves so quickly and also costs so much that we don’t get time to meet up with friends. I’ve been making it a point to message my girlfriends about 30-45 minutes before I plan to take my evening walk with Maddi & Charlotte so we can get our steps in together while catching up—or venting about our days. I feel so much closer to them now that we can do this 2-3 times a week. Don’t wait until the weekend to see your friends. Get your hot girl walks in together!
August’s work routine felt so much better, as well. I was actually able to batch for September knowing I’d want to enjoy my vacation while still putting a solid effort into August’s posts and goals. Everything just felt right—like it simply fell into place. I managed to do more than I expected of myself and it feels so amazing knowing I can go into September without stress of work overload.
Journal Prompts
What did I accomplish this month?
Feeling so strong with my workouts! I usually get movement in but this is the first time in years I’ve felt truly strong and happy with a fitness app!
How was I feeling this month? Why?
Strained but hopeful towards the end of the month. There were quite a few hurdles that seemed to be nonstop from the beginning of July all the way into August. By the middle of the month though—once exhaustion finally but hopeful that light at the end of the tunnel is close.
What events happened this month?
Movie & wine nights with my girlfriends and a new neighbor.
List some things you learned this month.
I always knew this but great reminder that when you take care of people, they want to take care of you back
What can I do better next month?
Enjoy my trip and family time but don’t let it stop my progress. I have a tendency to let a break last longer than it should and fall behind on goals when it’s back to normal. Keeping this in mind for September and setting myself up for success now. I’ll consider myself overachieving if I even workout on my vacation
Highs and Lows
Highs: taking walks with a new neighbor and making a new friend (get those steps in y’all!)
Lows: issues with my car and bank which is thankfully over!

If you’re looking for a cozy camisole that feels sexy and doesn’t even need a bra, this is the perfect choice! I bought one and loved it so much that I had to get almost every color they offer. I’ve tested them out in this crazy heat wave we’ve had this season and happy to report they passed with flying colors. No discomfort or overheating; just a buttery smooth fashion piece that you can wear for any occasion.
Aging is inevitable and I’m not going crazy trying to avoid it, but I am enjoying prolonging it as much as possible. Starting my everything shower with this body polish each Sunday night has made a huge difference in my skin’s aging. My arms and legs look so much brighter and feel softer than silk. I never skip my facial AHA peel on Sunday’s and now I can bring it into my body care.
Save this checklist so you can use it every month!
