Monthly Reset: August 2025
It’s Fall Y’all!! Ok, maybe not according to most people but in my book August=Autumn=Fall. It’s here. It’s time to start whipping out the pumpkins and making pumpkin spice lattes—something I’ll be trying to perfect at home this year. Technically, there’s still time left in summer and I’m trying to stay present and grateful for the time I’m in, even if it’s 95º degrees out and I’m just lusting after a fall breeze.
Clearly, my monthly reset time is much needed since I’m antsier than a child on Christmas Eve. Oh my gosh! Christmas! No, chill out holiday mind, we’re being present and enjoying where we’re at right now. It’s time to reflect, recenter and reset for the month of August.
In case you didn’t see last month’s reset post, this is a guide to doing a monthly reset so that you can reevaluate your goals, see what you did well over the past 30 days and what you might need to work on over the next four weeks. Incorporating this into my life has helped me stop and smell the roses, get honest with myself about what I really want and realize what goals are attainable so I set myself up for success.
Here’s the breakdown and guide I follow each month for you so that you can start doing it as well and be prepared for every month and take control of the precious time you have. Let’s get to it!

August Monthly Reset
Technically, it’s still summer, and while I am constantly wishing it would hurry up and be over I also am working on staying present and finding joy where I currently am. I’ve still got about a 6 weeks before my pool closes for the season so I’ve still got time to lay out in the sun and enjoy splashing around with friends on these hot days. We’ve been in an extreme heat wave warning for 2 weeks now so cooling off in the pool has been a godsend!
There’s still plenty for me to enjoy this month and goals I’d like to achieve so it’s time to take a look at last month to see what I did and didn’t accomplish so I can properly plan for August.

So, I was a little all over the place last month but I still hit 7 of my 11 goals, which is a win in my eyes. I’m not trying to focus on the 4 things I missed as a failure, but more as a place for improvement. If these goals were unattainable then I’d cut them out of the new month’s plan but these are definitely something I can do with a little more planning and commitment.
I think the reason I did so well is because I balanced out my goals. There was a stronger focus on Health + Wellness and Work, but Lifestyle had smaller goals, making it easier to complete all of them and then half of each from the other two categories. I’m not an overly competitive person in general, so I don’t tend to set a crazy amount of tough goals, but smaller ones that are going to make positive impacts. Smaller steps are still steps taken forward.
As for the goals I didn’t complete, I’ll be moving them to August and creating actionable steps each week that will help me achieve them. Checklists are your friend!

What did I accomplish this month?
I’ve felt more confident about my work and I have a schedule in place for each day that works best for where I’m at. In the past, I was creating a to-do list that needed a whole team to complete it, but it’s just little old me running everything. Being honest about what I can actually accomplish in a day and creating a Top 3 Priority list to finish before moving onto other tasks made a huge difference in my daily success.
How was I feeling this month? Why?
Capable! I didn’t push myself super hard to feel like I was being productive, when in reality that only makes me reactive and eventually swamped. Waking up earlier each day allowed me to tackle more tasks each day along with doing a morning walk with Maddi when it’s quiet, cooler and a wonderful start to my days. I’ve always heard that getting a walk in within the first hour of waking up once the sun has risen it will naturally reset your circadian rhythm, allowing your body to alert you it’s time to go to bed earlier and even eat meals at proper times throughout the day. After tracking my meal intakes and sleep, I noticed my meal times and wind down window for bed was working like clockwork. It’s one of the most calming feelings. I’ve suffered from insomnia for years so this literally feels like a whole new me in the best way!
What events happened this month?
Girls Day at a local orchard, which made my little fall girl heart happy! I love checking out local spots around town and the surrounding areas. Breeden’s is certainly one of my favorite places to visit for a little getaway from the craziness of the city to enjoy some mead, local produce, dips and pantry items on a gorgeous orchard.
List some things you learned this month.
Pushing myself to be better doesn’t have to mean scheduling every second of my day. Little steps get me closer to my goals without stress.
Practicing gratitude every day has a positive effect on my whole day.
Being kind to my body allows it to operate better and from a place of self-love.
What can I do better next month?
Add pilates to my fitness routine. I fractured my arm back in March and the healing process has been much longer than I wanted it to be, but it was necessary. Now that I’m feeling healed, I can confidently add it back into my day and start testing a theory I have: can I achieve 75 Hard Results with 75 Soft Efforts? Starting August 1st, I’ll be putting it to the test.
along with growing BetterTogether. I’m putting together my newsletters already and this week I’m setting up the podcast room so I can begin recording again.
Highs and Lows
Highs: wandering the orchards at Breeden’s and playing on an adult swing set with one of my best girlfriends
Lows: not having morning routine and nighttime routine checklists in place to make the start and end of my days smoother
August Goals
August is actually very exciting for me! I’ve got some fun things I want to do, hobbies I’ll be starting, and getting a lot of work done on the blog along with recording new podcast episodes. I’m especially grateful to have full function of my arm back and can’t wait to begin working out again.

Taking control of my money has always been a bit of a struggle but I want to do more than that. I want to start investing and building my wealth. I’ve heard so many great things about this workbook and just started using it a few days ago.
I haven’t made it through the entire book yet but what I’ve read so far has been different from any money book I’ve ever read! It’s geared towards women and written for women—something basically every other finance book doesn’t do. I’ll do a review later once I’ve finished it and completed steps to let you know exactly how I feel about it, but so far it’s a new favorite!
I used to love doing puzzles as a kid but somewhere over the years I just stopped doing them entirely. I just bought 5 different ones that go perfectly with the seasons. Yes, I already have a puzzle for fall, Halloween and 3 I couldn’t choose between for Christmas. I’ve been doing this Amalfi Coast puzzle each night after work and it’s been the most peaceful “me time” before dinner!
Save this checklist so you can use it every month!
Thanks & Let’s Do Better Together!
